A Message to Humanity from Jesus

I didn’t make a mistake when I made you. I wasn’t taken by surprise when you came into your mother’s womb. I looked forward to that moment from timeless eternity. I danced when you took your first breath of earth’s atmosphere.  And when your little eyes opened on earth’s landscape, you saw Me smiling as I bent over your warm little body with loving attention.

Soon your vision focused on the physical realm, but you could still see the heavenly. Your infant eyes viewed faces and sounds with delight, just as you had experienced in heaven with Me before you arrived on earth.

But then you came to experience hunger, pain, fear, loneliness, and shame as you grew in your humanness. I knew all these too, because I had come into your humanity and made it my own. Every tear, every sickness, every terror in the night was Mine too because I had joined you in My incarnation.  I did not separate Myself from anything that you experienced. I was tempted in every way you were. I suffered as you and with you.

And when I was tortured and killed, I could not have had you more with Me than with My own soul. You were in the bleeding of My heart, and together we breathed our last breath.

But, Beloved, when the tomb’s door opened, you and I both came out together as one. We walked as one in that first new creation morning.

And we can walk together this way, always. Just say yes. And leave the transformation to Me.

Jesus did not come back to life

Ok, I admit that was a clickbait title. But stay with me here and you’ll see what I mean.

We are spirit beings, God breathed living creatures made in His image and likeness. But we are even more than that because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We are now part of the new creation.

Humanity needed the cross. But it did not end there. He is risen. (Hallelujah!). But His resurrection was not a return to the physical life he had lived for thirty four earth years. It was a genesis of a new creation. He is the firstborn from the dead! Lazarus, the widow’s son, and others, were returned to physical, earth life.

Jesus, however, entered into a newness of life that not only is imperishable. But it is the same life in which we participate.“Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:4
‭‭Staggering, right? He didn’t “come back to life”. He inaugurated a whole new life! And He brought us with Him.

The Awakened Spirit

As spirit beings, we exist in the eternal realm. We are housed inside a body on earth. This is the physical realm. We also have invisible human parts, such as our mind, our emotions, and our will. This is sometimes called “the soul”.

But who we truly are is made from love, and for love. We were breathed into existence by Yahweh, God who is love. And from our innermost being rivers of living water flow. (John 4:14)

But some spirit beings are asleep, unaware of eternal life. The body, the mind and emotions dominate their being. And spirit is inactive, or sometimes worse, interacting with the realm of darkness. The awakening of spirit comes through believing into Jesus, by the power of Holy Spirit. The human spirit being then becomes joined to Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 6:17) This is what it means to be alive! To truly live, and never die. Spirit beings are eternal entities. And although physical death may come, spirit does not die.

Spirit beings, who have been made alive by faith in Jesus, have capacities to open and to release, to see and to hear, to receive and to rest. These are basic spiritual functions. There is always a sense of purpose and freedom in spirit activities. We exist in the heavenly, eternal realm while also experiencing the physical, natural realm on earth.

But how do we function, how do we move in spirit capacities? Much of what believers are taught today is designed to improve or strengthen the human soul. This is not unholy. But it is my belief that as we strengthen and mature in spirit, soul is healed and made whole. Our beings come into proper order and alignment: awakened spirit beings, with thriving souls, housed in a physical body. When we are awakened spirit beings, rivers of living water flow from our innermost being. We hear the voice of Yahweh, and deepen in our perceptions of His beauty. We are filled with the glory of the Lord.

Some ancient rabbis taught that before the fall, spirit was external and visible, housing body and soul within. Since spirit is made in the image and likeness of Yahweh, this is a beautiful idea. Can you just see Adam, Eve and their loving Creator enjoying one another in spiritual joy and play?

This interpretation of life in the garden would explain why Adam and Eve experienced nakedness when they sinned. As spirit beings, they had only known life clothed in glory. But when spirit death came, physical dominance began.

Rest a Little

Let yourself be off duty for a few minutes. Most of what we expect of ourselves is tragically false responsibility anyway.

I had some surgery recently. Wouldn’t it have been ridiculous of me to make suggestions to the surgeon as he worked? Or worse, try to operate on myself? (Although I did see that in a movie once, where a doctor operated on himself to remove a bullet. It was truly gruesome!)

No. All I did was fall asleep in the operating room. The capable physician did all the rest. My part was consent and surrender. In other words, “Yes, and Amen.”

So, if you can, take a little break today. Sit quietly, and offer the Great Physician your “yes and amen.” Rest, my dear. Let go of your terribly busy life for a few moments and just be His.

Overshadowed

The Annunciation – St Joseph Abbey, Spencer Massachusetts USA

Before Yeshua came to a stable in Bethlehem, He came to a virgin’s womb. By the divine technology of overshadowing, He Who created all, became a part of the world He created.

This overshadowing was the spreading-of-power-over a young girl whose only contributions were her “yes” and a womb. She was told by an archangel that the Spirit of Holiness would fall upon her in a cloud of glory. All she could do was be willing. Imagine the one who fills the heavens fit inside a virgin’s womb? This was humility’s greatest moment.

Mary offered Yahweh her future and reputation and dreams and plans for a home and family. This sacrifice of a young Jewish girl brought the Incarnation to humanity. Perhaps this is what is required by all who hear the message of “Christ in us”? Will we bring the Incarnation to humanity with our yes?

This same Spirit of Holiness invaded a small cave-grave some three decades later. He raised Yeshua from the dead. Did you catch that? The same Spirit of Holiness that overshadowed Mary also raised Christ from the dead.

And if that wasn’t staggering enough, we also know that this same Spirit that raised Yeshua from the dead is at work is us!!!!

The question is, what will the Spirit of Holiness do in the womb of our hearts? Will we say a complete yes? Will we lay aside our vision for the future, our reputations, our dreams and plans so that Yeshua will be born through our lives? Will we say yes to what we do not understand but simply trust the One who is asking us? Can we believe that the womb of our spirit tabernacles the Living God?

Ask Him to overshadow you. It was this overshadowing of glory in Peter that healed people who came into his proximity. We can only imagine what the Spirit of Holiness will cause in us when He overshadows us.

Ask Him to overshadow you. Then, whatever He asks you, just say yes.

On Humility

“It is only where we, like the Son, truly know and show that we can do nothing of ourselves, that God will do all.” Andrew Murray Humility

As we often find in Kingdom life, first is last and high is low. What I mean by that is that anything motivated by self promotion, self serving, or an over rated view of ourselves actually has the opposite effect spiritually. When we try to be strong in our own strength, we weaken ourselves spiritually. When we try to push our way ahead, we actually decline spiritually.

Jesus declared He did nothing except what He saw Father doing. We can live extravagantly within His heart and yield all to Him as He did with Father. Our surrender is the door into kingdom power. Not striving. Not struggling. Not self-effort. But surrender. To live entangled in Divine beauty and brilliance is the greatest life – absorbed into unlimited power and love.

Coming Home

There is a seeing Him, without my eyes and a knowing Him, without thoughts.

He beckons me, beyond feelings, into an immersion into His nature.

This is an entanglement from which I never want to detach.

It’s like a homecoming, to a new territory where all I feel is wanted.

It’s so much more than what I have called “acceptance”

Because human relationships have masks and veils,

And always a shadowy wondering, “oh if they only knew me…”

But here, inside the ‘within Him”

He clothes me with imparted innocence and unearned honor.

So, masks and veils are set aside

And all that remains is the tender embrace

Of the Godhead.

In case you forgot, this is who you really are

In case you thought your detours and mistakes disqualified you from God’s plan for your life, think again. Your identity wasn’t created by your own thoughts about yourself. Your true identity is and always will be, who God declares you to be.

The One who said, “Let there be light”, and there was light, has declared who you are. His thoughts towards you are kind and generous, beyond what you have imagined. Your true self is how God always relates to you, even if you are ignorants of who you truly are.  Your true self is who God sees when He lovingly looks at you.

So who is this beautiful person reading this?  What follows here are statements that are true. When your mind interrupts you, and says this is NOT who you are, dismiss the thought. You’ve entertained and fed the lies long enough. It’s a new day, and time for Truth to be your companion.

You are a fire carrier, who knows where to go and knows what to do, carrying revival fire wherever you go. You change atmospheres when you walk into a room.  You are a living, breathing tabernacle of the Most High. You were created to house His presence in the earth.

Demons tremble when you wake up in the morning. They fear you actually believing all that God says about you. So, smile when you look in the mirror. It’s going to be a great day, except of course, for the demons.

You are a true worshipper, who worships the Father in spirit and truth.  You are more and more empty of yourself, and more and more possessed by God. He has made Himself responsible for you. Your job is to yield, to surrender to love.

You are a steward of Holy Spirit wine, serving the household of God out of a pure servant heart, pouring out living water of joy and freedom wherever you go. What will your day be like today if you completely embrace this identity?

You are a life-carrier, and life-releaser, who is surrendered to God’s passionate love and life. You allow Him to manifest Himself through you to the world. People may not consciously understand they have encountered the living God when they interact with you. But they have. He is in pursuit of every human heart. You are His messenger, His ambassador, His secret agent spy in the land.

You are a yielded, surrendered child of the Living God, without reputation to protect or agenda to fulfil. You have entrusted your life into Christ and you live from your place seated with Him in heavenly places. You live with an overwhelming, insatiable hunger for more of Jesus. If this is not who you see right now, be assured, it is who you are more fully becoming. You may only see a shadow of who you are, but Christ in you holds the expectation that His glory will fill your life more and more.

Your ears hear not only the voice of God, but His very heartbeat, because He is the beating of your heart.

You are the mirror image of Jesus in this world, showing everyone how beautiful and wonderful He is through your life.

As a spirit being, you are engaged with the worship and light of heaven, and you are engaged with the affairs of earth. Each day your interaction with the heavenly realm increases, as does your awareness of your governmental authority in Christ.

Lastly, NEVER LET CIRCUMSTANCES, PEOPLE, OR EVEN YOUR OWN THOUGHTS AND EMOTIONS DEFINE YOU. IN CASE YOU FORGOT, GOD SAYS WHO YOU REALLY ARE.

The Holy Waiting

We sing songs about waiting. So did the psalmist. ‘How long O Lord?” (Psalm 13:1). We struggle in the delay. We begin to doubt and lose vision as time passes and our cries seem unheard above.

But what about His waiting? His beautiful heart longs for our presence, our companionship with Him in the quiet place.

Jesus waits for our gaze to meet His. He gave all so there would be no hindrances between us, no delays in our response to His call to come and eat, and rest.

Perhaps He sings a song over us, “How long, my love?”
